Composition of the Holy Quran

The Holy Quran is primarily divided into 114 chapters (Surah) of varying length and generally ordered from longest to shortest. Each chapter is further divided into verses (Ayat).
To ease reading, the Quran is divided into 30 equal sections called a 'Juz'. These divisions are done to make it easier for one to pace the reading over a month’s period, reading an equal amount each day. This is particularly important during the month of Ramadan, when it is recommended to complete at least one full reading of the Quran from cover to cover.
